1980/ Present
Professional Bass Fishing Guide (Lake Fork)
I
was a full time guide on Lake Palestine from 1980 to 1986. I was well know for producing
heavy stringers of Bass on Lake Palestine. My best four days, with clients on Lake
Palestine was in February, 1982. Of these four days, we caught a total of 45 Bass weighing
in at 246.25 pounds. My best one-day stringer on Lake Palestine was also in February, 1982
catching 19 Bass weighing in at 93.75 pounds. From 1981 to 1984, I also setup winter
fishing trips on Lake Monticello. These trips produced numerous 8 to 10 pound fish for my
clients.

During the construction of the dam on Lake Fork I spent many
hours driving around and walking the bottoms of what is now Lake Fork, to gain a better
knowledge of the bottom structure before they begin to let the lake fill. Lake Fork was
open to the public in the fall of 1980, at this time I began fishing for Bass on Lake Fork
exploring Its many creeks still yet to gain a better insight to the structure that was yet
to be covered with water.
I started guiding clients on Lake Fork in November, 1982. I
have established a reputation for catching and assisting my clients in catching bass in
the 10-pound plus range. One of my clients best day on Lake Fork was in November ,
1992. On this day we caught 90 bass weighing in at an average of 5.50 pounds each. Eighty
of these fish were caught between 1:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. To date, the largest bass caught
by one of my clients has been 13.96 pounds.
Remember my goal is not only to see that you catch a lot of
Bass or your Biggest Bass, but also that you have a enjoyable and educational trip too.
I'll be waiting to
hear from you! Gene Snider.
